I’ve been up on Wale for a minute now, and I’ve gotta say, its great to see him gettin the looks he deserves. His big break came wen he spit hot fiah over Justice’s D.A.N.C.E., months later he was featured on the cover of Urb Magazine with the Parisian dance duo, and named one of Rolling Stones Artists to Watch in 2008. The Go-Go influenced rapper has been floodin the internet with tracks, but not filler, I’m talkin TRACKS. Not only was his 100 Miles and Running mixtape [link] huge on the internet, but Nike Boots [mp3] was also the iTunes Single of the Week, featured in a Nike commercial, and remixed by none other that Weezy F. Baby (please say the baby). With all of that, His upcoming Seinfeld inspired Mixtape About Nothing (which even includes a guest skit by the shows Julia Louis Dreyfus), and being featured on The Roots new single (officially) Rising Up [mp3], its no wonder that he finally got signed with Interscope records. That dosent mean that he’ll forget where he came from, he still seems to be doing work with Mark Ronson and his Allido Records camp. Wale…. bringin the spotlight to D.C.

p.s. take note of his shoe game, cause its nuckin futs.

Please, please, please check out all of Wale’s work, but especially these standout tracks, cause he MURDERS beats on these shits.

-Rising Up (The Roots ft. Wale & Chrisette Michelle) [mp3]

–Back In The Go-Go (ft. Bun B & Pusha T) [mp3]

-W.A.L.E.D.A.N.C.E. [mp3]

-Roof (DJ Ayres Mix) [mp3]

-Chicago Falcon The Washington Sq. Lads Remix ft. The Budos Band (prod. by Mark Ronson) [mp3]

Chinese food and hookers are no longer the only things readily available for delivery over the phone in NYC. now offers to deliver a brown paper bag of your favorite brand of firewater directly to your doorstep. Wakozi allows users to add their favorite local liqour stores that are willing to colaborate with the site’s delivery service. This will surely make throwing a shindig that much easier now that the boose comes yo you. Bet McLovin and the crew wish they had this shit before they went on that whole hellbent adventure.

The Ups and Downs of the new Roots album…

So there have been alot of happenings with The Roots new album, Rising Down, in the past couple weeks. First they announced colabos and released a few songs (75 Bars (Blacks Reconstruction) [mp3], Get Busy (ft. Dice Raw & Peedi Peedi ) [mp3], and the title track Rising Down (ft. Mos Def & Styles P) [mp3]). Thought and the crew then they went on to release the first single Birthday Girl (feat. Patrick Stump) [mp3], including this video (still not known to be official) for their colaboration with the Fall Out Boy frontman. After jumping through all of these hoops, it was then made public that the single wouldn’t even appear on the American release, and would most likely be replaced by the newest release, Rising Up [mp3], featuring Chrisette Michelle, and my favorite up-and-comer Wale.

After listening to all of these tracks, and seeing these sick ass videos, including listening party footage….

The Roots Rising Down Party

Birthday Girl (feat. Patrick Stump) – this video is just as uncomfortably fun as the song…. and I love it.
